Beds 4 Babies Campaign

• Beds 4 Babies is a campaign to provide safety approved cribs for infants in Hillsborough County. The Healthy Start Coalition is inviting individuals and businesses to participate by donating money to purchase the cribs.
• The goal each year is to provide beds for 500 families within the Healthy Start and Healthy Families system of care.
• This campaign is an effort to save the lives of babies in our community. Sometimes infants are placed in unsafe sleeping environments such as a sofa or chair where they can become trapped between cushions and suffocate. Every year, infant deaths occur that might have been prevented if safe cribs had been a part of their home and lifestyle.
• According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the number one precautionary measure to prevent death from SIDS is to place a baby to sleep in a safety approved crib, free of bedding or objects.
• The Healthy Start Coalition appreciates the support of businesses and individuals that genuinely care about the most vulnerable members of our community and want to do something tangible that can make a difference.
