HUG Program
The Help U Grow "HUG" Program is here to help you and your baby get off to a good start by providing you with the parent support, information, and referrals you may need to promote your infant’s earliest evelopment. All "HUG" services are provided at no cost to you and your family.
While your baby is in the NICU the "HUG" Program offers:

Our "HUG" information packet.

Ongoing consultation with our "HUG" NICU Family Resource Coordinator who can offer parent support, information, and refer you to services you choose within our community.

Baby Cues 101 Class which will help you understand your baby’s behavioral cues.

Home visit consultation with our "HUG" Early Intervention Nurse to assist with transition home from the NICU or through other home visitation programs such as Healthy Start, Parents as Teachers and Healthy Families.
"HUG" services after your baby is discharged from the NICU include:

Follow-up phone call and/or e-mail around one month from our "HUG" Family Resource Coordinator.

Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), infant developmental questionnaire mailed to you when your baby is 4, 8 and 12 months adjusted age.

Referral assistance/advocacy to Early Steps for any infant who demonstrates a developmental delay and/or family is concerned.

Transition information and referrals to community programs serving infants over 12 months adjusted age.

Home visit consultation with our "HUG" Early Intervention Nurse to assist with transition home from the NICU.
