The Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County is honored to receive a $25,000 grant from Community Foundation Tampa Bay to expand TeleStart's maternal mental health services. The funding supports virtual nurse office hours, telehealth education, and personalized care for pregnant and postpartum families, helping improve maternal health outcomes and increasing access to trusted support across Hillsborough County.

Maternal mental health conversations must move beyond stigma and into support, education, and action. During the Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County’s recent Community Meeting, Dr. Deborah Knudson Gonzalez (Dr. KG) discussed postpartum depression, perinatal anxiety, substance use, expanded screening tools, and the importance of compassionate, trauma-informed care for pregnant and postpartum families.
